Liveaboard Cheow Lan LakeDiving Trip - Fresh water diving on a barrier lake
Liveaboard Cheow Lan Lake
Fresh water diving on a barrier lake
The Khao Sok National Park covers an area of approximately 4,400 square kilometers. It is the largest protected rainforest in Southeast Asia and one of the oldest and most diverse ecosystems in the world. Its age is estimated at about 160 million years. This rainforest is older than the jungle in the Amazon or the rain forests in Central Africa. Here you can, for example, watching the wet hornbill, the oldest bird in the world.
The reservoir is surrounded by stunning, very high limestone walls. This craggy rock massifs form, with steep walls and caves above and below water, the perfect backdrop for unforgettable dives at 28 degrees Celsius water temperature.
This is a 2 day trip with a maximum of 4-5 divers. Of course, non-divers are welcome to this unique nature experience. Only about 120 km from Khao Lak, between deep valleys with bizarre limestone cliffs and hilly landscapes is the huge Cheow Lan Reservoir.
The basis for our dives are the Floating bungalows, where we also spend the night. Between dives, we enjoy the peace and quiet away from mass tourism, swim, relax or explore the area in a kayak.
In the evening we sit together and will spoil you with fresh fish and other local specialties.
Oddly, there’s almost no mosquitoes here.
